untitled

Its a long time since my last post. I am busy doing lot of not-so-necessary things. Yes, there you get it. I was at home for vacation after a lot of niggering whether to go or not. I was thinking of doing so much programming (project, CFD assignments) once I come back. Its already one week, but I am not really into it. Matlab window is always open in my Windows, but never has been the active window. I am really stuck with anime. Guess I am addicted to it, like I was to net browsing before it. Guess one goes only for the other to come.
But I am really making good progress in learning (or byhearting, whatever you call..) vocabulary, or atleast I think so. Quizroom- Guess The Word BOT in our dcplusplus hub is really useful in that matter. At the end, I hope doing something ( how much small it may be...) is better than nothing.
Hope I would get into my old track soon.

Much awaited direct connection to Internet is resumed..

Without much ado, we came to know that direct connection to internet is working when admin of our DC hub sent pm to all members.
From now onwards, no need of clumsy tunnelling for peer to peer network utilities like torrents, limewire, IRC clients etc. Well, now without tunnelling, everyone tries to download stuff through torrents, so speeds may come down. Thats the dark side.
Well, whatever, from now onwards, browsing is more fun for us.

edit: Well, it would have been fun, if it continued. No longer its working. God knows what happened.

Exam Blues

Exams can be quite nerve racking, if you are really really serious.
Otherwise they can be quite entertaining.
Well, I have a lot of good things to say about my exam days.

You need not attend classes, not to mention tiresome labs.
You can listen to music 24 x 7. You may try all the new genres.
You can go to cheddis everyday with your buddies and bhat about how stupid exams are, and how ineffecient your professors are.
You find an excuse to bunk gym.
No need to go for morning/ evening practices.
Well, you may actually learn something!

Well, I end up watching a lots of anime anywayz.

Another stupid update

Melancholy = pensive sadness; mental depression etc.
Point-blank = a close range shot; (of a remark) blunt or direct.

These days I got hooked to linux (fc5). There were many temporary sessions of obsessions with linux with me, but I should say this time its rather stable.I am starting feel stupid about bugging people about every tiny problem without putting a fair effort myself. Well, thats for better.

Vocabulary Update

Here are some new entries. Well, English lang is exciting in a sense that many complex feelings can be concisely expressed in a single word which is otherwise rare to find in other langs.

poach = hunt illegally

grotesque = abnormal and hideous (in size)

deja vu = the experience of thinking a new situation had occurred before

masochist = someone who obtains pleasure from receiving punishment

importunate = making pressing or persistent requests

truant = one who is absent from school without permission; hooky player

I was looking at word 'protagonist', but couldn't understand its meaining clearly. It has meaning like 'principal character', but I doubt it has broader meaning. Somehow I tend to think that it means arrogant male character!

I treasure those moments!

When we had laughed together,
when I was angry at you after a silly fight,
when we sat side by side just staring into the space,
when we were wondering what we will be doing after few years,
I treasure those moments.
May be we haven't talked much lately,
but I just want to say a few words
"Happy Friendship Day, my dear friend!"
and I am grateful to the God, that I met you.

Do you know?

Have you ever wondered how the Orkut "Add to my crush-list" option
works?

Most of us are scared to add someone to our crush-list because of the
fear that he/she will get a notification from Orkut that you have added
him/her on your crush-list...

YES, they will get such a notification. But that is only if they too
add you on their crush list. In fact, you both will get a message from
Orkut if you both have added each other on your respective crush lists.

It will help the cause of many
people and who knows, you may be the lucky one too!!!

So start adding people to your crush-lists now and spreading this vital
information!!!

Godavari- a movie of its own class

'Godavari'- ee vesavi challaga untundi, the second telugu movie from Sekhar Kammula didn't fall below expectations of 'Anand' fans. It didn't miss the sensitivity touch that the director mastered in 'Anand'. This movie is far better than 'Anand ' in one aspect, language. 'Chakkani telugu nudikaaram' is felt through out the movie.
The main attraction for the movie is certainly the main character, Sriram . Sumanth made his mark. His look suited very well for the movie. Though I'm not his fan, I am certainly surprised by his command of expressions in the movie. His costumes suit his chracterization. I wish he would continue in these type of roles rather than mass roles.
'Maradalu/ Maama kooturu' character is very very well played. She is beautiful and you will certainly like her cute histrionics.
'Seeta/SeetaMaaLaxmi' , the heroine character is well played as well. But somehow Bhoomika is seen in her histrionics, or may be I felt like that because Bhoomika is trade mark actor for those kind of egoist girl character. I hardly felt any flaws in acting part of the movie. Every role is well played.
Not to forget, the main plus point of the movie, music by Radhakrishnan added soul to the movie. I loved his background scores along with Slokas,Kritis played in background as in Anand.
It was a wonderful experience for me to watch the movie in a good theatre in Tirupati, that too second show. Certainly the movie is of its own class.

rejection

I took her hand in my hand,
slowly I said "I Love You".
She rose from her chair,
she was going away from me
along the long carridors till the door
she never looked back.

TheOnlyReason

[frm Roxy's blog]

It takes millions of years for a species to evolve. It takes just a few moments for that species to disappear forever from the globe. The only reason.. The only reason being human beings. The only reason being I. The only reason being YOU.

I pity myself for my inability to cover my arms around the globe and protect it
My arms are not so wide
But could do one thing
I could use your arms as well
No, it’s still not wide enough
Will you call someone else too?
Yes, if more and more join, we could do something!
We could cover the globe so that no green grass falls off it

Mother Earth held us to her breasts till now. Now she is weak and old. It’s our turn to show gratitude. It’s your turn.. Will you?

Somehow I feel bugged. There’re very few (is it so?) who take time for, or love, nature. Is it that they don’t have time to? Where’re you all heading to? Are you so much obsessed with your career and pride and money that you can’t stop a while to think of nature? Or do you think there’re some nature lovers, they’ll do it all? No yaar! It takes efforts from all to preserve every species we have now, every shade of green you’ve seen.

Actually, only a little time is left to repair. So what can we do? Hmm.. Let me think. With this single article, you won’t go out and stand for Kyoto Protocol or raise your voice to defend global warming, will you? You won’t go out and see whether your local government is giving out pesticides and poisons which go up the food chain and damage life on earth, would you?

Kyoto Protocol

I felt the article pretty thought provocating,so took a excerpt frm the original article.

Latest controversy:Caricatures of the Prophet

Reportedly,a Danish news paper published some obnoxious caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.Well,I dont know how Muhmmad was portrayed in the cartoons but it seems Muslims are actually against the thought of portraying their Prophet Muhammad in newspapers/magazines.All this stuff is not a point of interest to me.But I wonder about what followed the Danish incident. Many European news papapers had published the cartoons in the name of 'Freedom of Expression'.I cant understand whether their stand of freedom of expression is legitimate.
Challenging the argument, leading Iranian daily Hamshahri has invited foreigners to participate in a cartoon competition on the Holocaust . "Does the West extend freedom of expression to the crimes committed by the United States and Israel, or an event such as the Holocaust? Or is its freedom only for insulting religious sanctities?" asked the daily.
Doesnt it make sense? The western countries always speak of ideals and freedom to just support their view. What about American stand towards local news channels in Iraq and Arab countries?

Palestinian confusion

A lay man,who doesnt even have interest in world politics knows the Middle-East conflict. There lies an ever-burning oven. The news paper dailies are filled with stories of massacres in the Israel-Palestinian border.Recently there was a sensation out there. Its not a mass murder or a suicide attack. The great western political heads are burning their minds not knowing what to do to tackle the situation.
'Hamas'-a extremist group given terrorist stamp both by US and EU long long ago, won the elections which are termed as the most judicial and demotrically held elections till date in the Arab(even GeorgeBush agrees that!).
Well, the problem comes here.Bush, the beacon of democracy around the world(as his words and actions imply!) cant just abandon Hamas government because it is elected by people with a clear majority.Either he cant move hands on hands with the Hamas government, which would only imply formal support of terrorism. The same is with EU.It cant just stop the funding suddenly.
The people who are intensivley shocked by the result are neither Americans nor Europians. Its the Hamas who won the election. They were only expecting to become a strong opposition. How can a group supplying belt-bombs get itself into supplying medicine and food?Hamas invited Fatah-the ruling party in the past to form coalition government, but it seems the offer is rejected.
No need to mention Israel's reaction on it.Leave aside peace talks, the situation is more worse. What happens then?
Only time can answer.

music-sree ramadasu

Genre:Traditional/Bhakti
Language:Telugu
Composer:M.M.Keeravani/M.M.Kreem
Singers:S.P.Balu,ShankarMahadevan,VijayaYesudas,Keeravani

Another nice album from Keeravani, composer of 'Annamayya'(NationalAwardWinner).'Annamayya' album is full of kritis written by the great devotee himself, whereas its not the case with 'SreeRamadasu' it seems. There were lot of expectations for this album because 'Annamayya' was a big musical hit.And Keeravani came upto the expectations with finely composed tunes with no noise and stuff. With great singers in his team,he has done a metriculous job.I myself was waiting for this album from quite a long time and I am not disappointed.Hope the composer will deliver more albums of this genre.

India and the World-IndoChina realtions

Sino-Indian diplomatic realtions has been the most critical and appearingly complex issue in Indian foriegn policy.Delegates and analysts from both countries are trying hard recently to dispel the mutual mistrust that stagnated in the minds of two countries.

1.The Tibet issue:

  • From 18th cetury,China had been ruling Tibet. In 1911,China gave Tibet its independence. The Dalai Lama was the spiritual as well as temporal head of the small nation.
  • After the British left India, the diplomatic realtions between India and Lhasa had been continued.
  • In 1951,China sponsored a communist uprising and seized Tibet.Tibetians revolted.China used brutal force. As the situation became worse, the Dalai Lama along 100,000 of his followers fled to India. The Government of Nehru showed great courgae and gave Tibetans refuge in Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh against the will of the Chinese. It worsened Sino-Indian relations.
Could this step of Indian government be justified diplomaticlly ?or was that a blunder that Nehru committed?

2.Panchsheel:

Nehru and ZhouEnlai agreed on Five Principles of mutual friendly relations, "Panchsheel".It was ignored through many unfortunate incidents those succeded Tibet issue.

3.Boundary Issue:

The Communist regime in China refused to recognise the borders set by the British.Though Panchsheel could give some temporary appeasement,Tibet issue had made relations worse. The People's Liberation Army of China constantly intruded into Indian territory in the north-eastern part of India. In November 1962,the Chinese launched a full scale military invasion which the iil-equipped Indian Army was not fully prepared to face. The entire world condemned the Chinese aggression. The US rushed military aid to India.Subsequently, the Chinese withdrew from some positions but held on to more than 50,000 sq. km of Indian territory.

[Points are taken from ncert text book class-12]

Afterwards some steps were taken from both sides but no appreciable improvement was there till recently.

In between there is Pakistan. In 1963,Pakistan illegally transfered a part of Kashmir, which it had forcibly occupied in 1947,to China.China's co-operation to Pak in all fields (mainly in millitary related issues) is not a secret.China is often perceived in India (and abroad) as a supporter of Pakistan's hostile actions against India.Chian had also refused to recognise the fact that Sikkim is an integral part of India.

Well, the present scenario is bit hope-rising.The talks are in progress and the pace is being improved.I had given an account of past scenario.May be we can continue our discussion on present scenario like US involvement,Econonmic&Trade co-operation,Role of Pakistan and the possible solutions or the steps to be taken from both sides towards prosperous future of two countries.

I tried the best I could

I tried the best I could
I went as far as I could
But the other end seems so far
And I understood I dint go far
Reaching there seemed strangely impossible
So I left my trial and reverted back
When I reached the place where I started
I could recognize its a failure
but I am satisfied
.
